Darryl H. Wilson began serving as a state missionary for the Kentucky Baptist Convention in September 1997. As Sunday School & Discipleship Consultant, he provides SundaySchool, discipleship, senior adult, and small group training and consultations for 2,400 Kentucky Baptist churches and 70 associations. Darryl has also taught at Rockbridge Seminary, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Boyce College.
Darryl grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, receiving the Bachelor of Arts degree from Belmont University in 1982. He graduated from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville in 1985 with the Master of Divinity in Christian Education degree and in 2003 with the Doctor of Education degree.
Over the years, Darryl served five Baptist churches as Minister of Education. He came to the convention from Eastwood in Bowling Green, Kentucky. In addition to Eastwood, he served the Kentucky churches of Alton in Lawrenceburg, Living Hope in Bowling Green, and Third in Owensboro as well as First in Pendleton, South Carolina. During those years, Darryl was also active in associational and state Sunday School work.In recent years, he provided pulpit supply and interims for many churches.
Since 1984, Darryl has been married to Yvonne Wilson of Lawrenceburg. Yvonne received the Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Kentucky in 1984. Since graduating, she has held various accounting and teaching positions. Currently she is a middle school algebra teacher at Whitefield Academy in Louisville. Their oldest son, Jonathan, is 30 years old and married to Ashley. They are parents of Jonathan (1.5 years old). Jordan is age 29 and married to Savannah. They are parents of Avery (2.5 years old) and Hazel (7 months).In addition to his family, Darryl enjoys golf, travel, chess, and reading.
